We'll be putting our own events here and will be happy to put up any other upcoming martial arts events that raise money for children's charities. Just send us (in good time please!) all the necessary details of the events and we'll try our best to put it on the site....GOOD LUCK!

JANUARY 2009
"Hubud Lubud" Charity Seminar
Reference Point empty hand "Hubud Lubud" seminar to be held for children's charities by Fighting for Lives. We will cover variations of the hubud, at least 4 switching techniques, easy striking combinations and how they lead into hand immobilisations (trapping), grappling and finishes.

Children's self defence course held by Fighting for Lives. This time we will be learning to evade and block oncoming strikes, to use our voices and to use our agility to find easy ways out of difficult situations.

"Dumog and Silat Grappling techniques" Charity Seminar
We will cover various aspects of South East Asian arts (Filipino, Malay, Indonesian) including stick lock flows, grappling movements translated from stick, machete and knife fighting techniques, ground grappling concepts and maybe even some multiple opponent concepts....come along!

Guru Maul Mornie (SSBD) Returns!
We will get another chance to experience the awesome blade art from Brunei that is "Silat Suffian Bela Diri". Guru Maul will come for a two-day seminar. Further details to be released soon. But so far the details are as follows:

Time: 09:00-17:00 (2 hour break for lunch each day)
Price: 45 euros for one day, 60 euros for 2 days - if coming for one day, then preferably the first day. 50% of money to be donated to reputable children's charities/projects (to be announced soon.

Sifu Luke Holloway of RAW Combat International - Silat/Knife techniques seminar
Sifu Luke Holloway will take one day Silat and one day Knife Fighting Seminar here in Finland. With this seminar and his tour, he will be supporting an orphanage in Nepal run by an Australian agency...see (www.forgetmenotorphanage.org.au). Saturday training will be Silat and Sunday will be a knife concepts seminar.

UK Fighting for Lives Charity Seminar - South East Asian empty hands
My first Fighting for Lives event in the UK will be hosted by Silat Master, Guru Simon Das. ALL proceeds to be donated to Malaysian orphans next year. I will cover a few inner concepts (controlling the animal, having intention and interpreting/reacting to your enemies). These will be coupled to typical drills and techniques.
